THE HISTORY OF THE PITBOX
Ricky Sanders built his first Pitbox in 1990 not knowing that it would be the first of many. That first one was built out of need. At the time Ricky was racing in the NASCAR Sportsman series that was a support series at tracks like Charlotte Motor Speedway and Pocono Raceway. Being a support series meant not always being near pitroad, this meant being able to get the pit equipment and tools need for pitstops was a challenging feat. The solution was to put the toolbox and equipment in one larger “pitbox” on pneumatic tires that would be more stable and able to roll over uneven surfaces for long distances. Being a race car fabricator he set out to make one for himself. When this first box made its first appearance it sparked a demand from other racers that wanted the same ease of mobility. This led to building Pitboxes for other racers adding to the products offered by Ricky Sanders Racing Inc.
